Moreover, the Government of Ontario offers incentives to support students and newly graduated personal support workers. Eligible individuals can receive up to $25,400 in incentives as they embark on their career journey.

 

These incentives include:

 

  • Up to $5,400 when complete your placement in a long-term care home or in home and community care

  • Up to $10,000 incentive if you commit to working in a long-term care home or with a home and community care service provider for 12 months

  • An additional $10,000 if home or provider is in a rural, remote, or northern location

With a projected need for 24,000 new PSWs by 2026, now is an excellent time to pursue a career in this field.

 

 

Work-Integrated Learning

 

Computek’s Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate program is designed to prepare individuals for compassionate and effective care within diverse healthcare settings. Throughout the program, students engage with topics such as safety and mobility, body systems, identification of abuse and neglect, and cognitive and mental health issues.

 

Benefiting from Computek College's strong partnerships within the community, learners participate in both clinical and community placements. These opportunities enable students to apply their knowledge and skills under the guidance of experienced professionals, ensuring readiness to meet the demands of the field and provide high-quality care in various settings, including long-term care facilities, hospitals, and private homes.
